Background
summary
The
National Development plan, which provides a framework for South
Africa’s developmental agenda to 2030, identifies education as a
key priority, (NDP) identifies human capacity, school management,
district support, infrastructure and results- oriented mutual
accountability between schools and communities as the priorities in
basic education.
Due
to poverty and inequality in our communities created by the past,
in many places, more especially rural/farm schools, to this day,
school-infrastructure still does not meet the requirements of a
conducive learning and teaching environment. In many schools teaching
resources and infrastructural- resources are still the day to day
growing concern. This is still a major challenge despite government
intervention, not only to education authorities but to private-sector
and communities at large. This has brought many challenges and
opportunities in south- Africa and Africa as a whole.
It
was our
realization that government alone cannot address all the educational
challenges besetting our country. We therefore need to create a
conducive environment for working together with all stakeholders to
achieve quality education.
It
was with these deficiencies in mind, as well as the challenges and
opportunities that exist that we pledge to contribute our time and
the little resource that we have, to campaign for such schools,
through embarking on various adventurous and expeditions activities
in Africa and the world to raise the funds for the needy schools.
